Furnace
- Check the filter and change it if it’s dirty.
- Is snow in or around your vent outside? Make sure this vent is clear at all times.
- Is the thermostat heat/cool switch in the heating position?
- Is the set temperature higher than the temperature in the house?
- Replace the thermostat batteries if this has not been done in the last year.
- Is the breaker on that goes to the furnace?
- Is the on/off switch next to the furnace in the on position?
- Check the wet switch on the side of the furnace. If it has a red light then dry it off with a hair dryer and reset the wet switch so the light is green.
- Check the GFI and, if necessary, reset it using the back of a pencil. The GFI can trip because of power issues and then the condensate pump will not run, leading to a water leak which the wet switch will pick up on and shut the furnace off for safety.
- Verify all doors are properly installed on the furnace.
- If your furnace is still not working properly, turn it off at the thermostat and call us at (231)773-6857.
